The Wonder Years’ Fred Savage returns to our screens with a whole new bunch of pals.
In the late 1980s, child stars didn’t come much bigger than Fred Savage. The winsome, chubby-cheeked youngster won the hearts of viewers as suburban teenager Kevin Arnold in the 1960s-set comedy The Wonder Years.
Like many acting prodigies, Savage found it difficult to make the transition into older roles when the show ended in 1993, but he’s continued to work in the TV industry, directing and producing episodes of shows like Modern Family and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
This week, however, Savage makes a rare appearance back in front of the camera when he stars in new Netflix comedy-drama Friends from College.
Written by Finding Sarah Marshall director Nick Stoller, and based on his own experiences, the eight-part series follows a group of former university friends as they reunite in New York after two of the gang – neurotic writer Ethan (Keegan-Michael Key) and his lawyer wife Lisa (Cobie Smulders) – relocate to the city.
