We all know that prison sentences can ruin the lives of the convicted criminals, but they also have a devastating impact on their families. This week, C4 cameras follow a radical new scheme called Checkpoint, designed to keep offenders out of prison.
The documentary follows the dedicated Checkpoint team, part of Durham Constabulary, and the offenders they’re trying to help, including John, who’s been referred for assault after hitting his nine-year-old son with a leather belt.
