Matt Lucas' Jewish grandmother Margot played a formative role in his life, but she rarely spoke about her escape from Nazi Germany, so the Bake Offhost was keen to learn more when he took part in BBC1's Who Do You Think You Are?
'Grandma was formidable,' says Lucas, 48. 'When I was young, I was scared of her because she was strict, but as I got older, we became really close. I wanted to reconnect with her by finding out things about her that she never told me.
