GRANTCHESTER
FRIDAY, 9PM, ITV DRAMA
Formidable housekeeper Sylvia Chapman has always kept the vicarage running like clockwork in ITV’s popular period drama Grantchester.
But, after a shock medical diagnosis in last week’s episode, a devastated Mrs C (played by Tessa Peake-Jones) is behaving out of character, including getting drunk. In a tender moment with her good friend, former curate Leonard Finch fears that God is punishing her for an event in her past, which she has kept secret until now.
Here, Tessa, 64, talks us through Mrs C’s most challenging storyline yet…
Where did we find Mrs C at the start of season seven?
At the beginning of this series, Mrs C is having a go at opening a cafe with Leonard and is feeling happy about everything in her life.
But she hasn’t been feeling her best and is visited by the doctor and, from this point, life changes quite radically for Mrs C.
Why does Mrs C keep her condition a secret from her nearest and dearest?
