Grab a cuppa, put your phone away and ignore the doorbell, for this is the week that Gray Atkins’ crimes finally catch up with him.
And although we don’t know for sure that the killer solicitor will get his just deserts, we’d bet our lowly bank accounts on it. Baddies always get their comeuppance in Walford, whether that’s via a meaty stretch in the slammer or a grisly trip to that great square in the sky.
Gray has so far evaded justice for the murders of wife Chantelle, Tina Carter and Kush Kazemi, but the discovery of Tina’s body has ramped up the pressure. He keeps a cool head as DCI Arthurs takes him to the nick for questioning, but things get messy when Nancy spots him and the copper together and reports back to her dad.
Mick and Shirley charge over to Gray’s gaff to find out what’s going on. Gray fobs them off with his faux grief over Tina’s death, but he’s panic-stricken to discover some new information, and decides he must flee the Square.
