LONG LOST FAMILY SPECIAL: SWITCHED AT BIRTH

NEW MONDAY, 9PM, ITV FACTUAL

After over a decade of reuniting splintered families, you'd assume that Nicky Campbell and Davina McCall would be well-versed in keeping their emotions in check.

But as their BAFTA-winning ITV series Long Lost Family returns for a 12th outing, both hosts admit to being totally flawed by this week's special opening episode, Switched at Birth.

Here, Davina, 54, and Nicky, 61, tell TV Times more...

The first story sounds heartbreaking - can you talk us through it?

DAVINA We've never been asked to look into a situation like this before. A lady [77-year-old Rosemary Rawlins] came to us who had always felt she'd been switched at birth, and when she found out from DNA that she had been, she asked us to help look for her biological family.

It threw up moral questions, as being swapped meant someone else had grown up in the wrong family, too, and they could be blissfully unaware. Was it the right thing to do?
