Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith’s BBC2 comedy Inside No 9 is the TV gift that keeps on giving.

Not only does the series provide shock twists week after week (if you could see the surprise twist coming at the end of the first episode, The Bill, you deserve a medal!), it also features a constellation of guest stars in every episode.

So far we’ve spotted actors including Jason Watkins, Tamzin Outhwaite and Philip Glenister, and this week it’s The Durrells and Line of Duty star Keeley Hawes popping up in a story inspired by Steve’s commute to work.

The former Benidorm star spotted a shoe by the side of the road and wondered what would happen if someone became obsessed with working out where it came from and who it belonged to. It was this idea that inspired the episode, Diddle Diddle Dumpling….
