We all know we should eat healthily and exercise. Yet the move from bad habits to good can often feel like a stretch too far. Fortunately Eat, Shop, Save’s personal trainer Marvin Ambrosius is here to help bridge that gap!

In an exclusive video interview, Marvin, 41, tells TV Times his inspiring personal story and shares his top tips to becoming fit for life…

When did your journey to becoming healthier begin?

I played basketball for England from 13 to 18. I’m susceptible to putting on weight, so as soon as I stopped playing sports at 19, I put on about 3st in a year. By the age of 30, I was 19st.

For years, I did all the wrong things. I was working in sales and marketing, getting up at 6 am and getting home at 8 pm, having white bread, chocolate bars, and fizzy drinks. I started going to the gym but didn’t lose weight because I kept eating the same food. Then one day it clicked...

What changed?

I started doing small bursts of cardio. I removed sugar and fats from my diet. Some days I was doing 20-minute workouts, sometimes it would be just five minutes. And the next thing you know, every week I was losing half a pound or more.
