I'd Love Shona To Be A Platt!'

Dig out your hats, ladies and gents – it’s time for a Corrie wedding. Or is it..?

As Shona Ramsey arrives at the Bistro for her big day this week, there’s no sign of fiancé David. Her other half, who has been doing porridge for fleecing Audrey, was all geared up for his release when he was wrongly framed for trying to murder his rapist, Josh Tucker.

Fortunately, the truth is finally exposed and Shona discovers her other half is set to be released. But will he make it back to Weatherfield in time to say ‘I do’?

We caught up with Corrie star Julia Goulding, 34, to chat about her character’s big day…

How does Shona feel in the run-up to the wedding? Is she confident that David’s name will be cleared?

She’s trying to talk herself into believing he’s innocent. She wants to trust him but, deep down, there is a niggling feeling of, ‘Could he have actually attacked Josh?’ For the sake of keeping her family together, though, she can’t even begin to think that he could be staying in prison. So she’s trying to make herself believe that he’ll be coming out soon.

Gail cancels the wedding – how does Shona react to that?
