There’s a new cheeky chappie in EastEnders this week, as Walford welcomes Sonia Fowler’s estranged dad, Terry – AKA Rocky to his pals.

And actor and comedian Brian Conley, who was cherry-picked for the part, couldn’t be more pleased, for not only is he having the time of his life, but he feels his late dad, Colin, is right there with him.

We caught up with Brian, 59, to find out more...

How did this role come about?

I was gearing up to star as Scrooge at London’s Dominion Theatre at Christmas, and I got a phone call saying, ‘EastEnders want to have a chat with you.’ They said, ‘We’d love you to be in it.’ I was very lucky; I didn’t have to audition and I’m glad, because I’m terrible at auditions!
