Sara Cox tells TV Times how her show plans to spread the joy of reading

Curling up with a good book is, for many us, one of life’s greatest pleasures. Now presenter and Radio 2 DJ Sara Cox is on a mission to bring the nation together through the joy of reading with a new BBC2 series, Between The Covers.

In each of the seven episodes, Sara’s joined by a panel of four famous faces, who’ll each bring along their favourite book plus help review some of the latest releases.

All the books featured will be labelled with special ‘Between The Covers’ stickers in shops, libraries and online so that viewers can read them too and tweet along with each episode, creating a weekly book club for the nation.

Here, in an exclusive interview, Sara, 45, tells TV Times more…

Can you describe the series?

It’s like a really warm and welcoming book club but without the wine and crisps! It’s about having fun and celebrating all these brilliant books from different genres. We want people at home to think, ‘I might give that one a try!’ One of the panellists will also have had a book recently published, so we’ll chat about that too.
