The Highland Midwife

If you’re suffering withdrawal symptoms from Call the Midwife and One Born Every Minute, fear not! There are plenty of special deliveries in store this week as we return to rural Scotland for a second series of Channel 5’s uplifting documentary The Highland Midwife.

At the heart of the action in episode one is midwife Morven Fioretti, who we met in the first series, as we again follow the midwifery team in Tain, in the far north east of Scotland, helping expectant mothers who are miles from the nearest maternity ward.

This time the series expands east across the Highlands to include the Grampians – and over the course of the six episodes, there will be 11 live births, so expect blood, sweat and tears – in the best possible way!
