HIDDEN

SAT, 9PM, BBC4 DRAMA (BOX SET, iPLAYER)

Thriller Hidden has built a loyal fan base since its launch on BBC Four in 2018. Filmed in Welsh (airing as Craith on S4C) and English, the action follows DCI Cadi John (played by ex-Emmerdale star Sian ReeseWilliams) and DS Owen Vaughan (Sion Alun Davies) as they examine the motives for the crimes they investigate – it’s a ‘whydunnit’, rather than a ‘whodunnit’.

The third and final series takes us back to the shadows of the bleak, slate-strewn mountains of Snowdonia, as Cadi and Owen are called to investigate after the body of a local farmer is found in a stream.

Here, in an exclusive interview, Welsh native Sian, 40, tells TV Times what to expect in the new six-parter…

How sad are you to say goodbye to Hidden?

This is a hugely bittersweet moment for me; I loved filming Hidden. I would have happily shot two more series, but all good things must end.

What can we expect from this series?

This one is quite different, actually – it has its own vibe. Even though Hidden is never black and white, the first two series feature very clear-cut villains.
