Since landing the role of DS Aiden Healy in crime drama Vera three years ago, Kenny Doughty has become as much part of the show as DCI Vera Stanhope’s floppy fishing hat.

The crime-fighting partners are currently back on our screens in the show’s eighth series, and this week’s investigation sees them unearthing secrets after a woman is found dead.

However, Kenny isn’t just known for solving murders on the windy moors of Northumberland. Over the last few years his career has taken off with roles in ITV thriller Black Work and Kay Mellor’s BBC1 drama Love, Lies & Records.
