MY FAMILY, THE HOLOCAUST & ME NEW MONDAY / BBC1 / 9PM (SCOTLAND, 10.45PM) / EP 1 of 2 / FACTUAL
Two years ago, Robert Rinder travelled to Poland to follow the story of his grandfather, Holocaust-survivor Morris Malinicky, for an episode of BBC1’s Who Do You Think You Are?
He discovered that while Morris, who was sent to work in Nazi munitions factories, survived, his parents and five siblings were tragically all killed in the notorious Treblinka extermination camp.
Now, in a two-part documentary for BBC1, a criminal barrister and TV personality Robert is returning to Poland with his mother, Angela – Morris’ daughter – to learn more about their ancestors. He’ll also be helping other families whose relatives experienced the Holocaust to retrace their parent's and grandparents’ footsteps.
Here, Robert, 42, tells TV Times more.
