A League Of Her Own
YOU South Africa|4 January 2018

Being single isn’t a hassle for Angelina as she juggles work and family life effortlessly. Pity the same can’t be said about Brad!

AS 2017 drew to a close, the gossip galloped along.

First he was offering her a settlement of $100 million (about R1,4 billion) because she wanted to get back together and he wasn’t interested. If he offered her enough money, the story went, she’d just go away.

Then reports broke of a “Christmas miracle”. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie would be setting their differences aside and spending the holidays together with their kids.

“The holidays make Brad really sentimental about family and especially about his kids,” celeb news site Hollywood Life reported. “Pampering them makes him feel good and Angie doesn’t want to interfere with that.”

Could any of it be true? Seems not. Gossip Cop, a website that prides itself on sifting the tittle-tattle from the truth, claims the settlement business is rubbish and the Christmas-as-a-family story has no substance either.

All we can be certain of at this stage is this: very little seems to be happening in the divorce of the decade that ended the couple of the century.

Things still seem to be on hold as they try to sift through the tatters as amicably as possible for the sake of kids Maddox (16), Pax (14), Zahara (12), Shiloh (11) and nine-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne (YOU, 24 August 2017).

Tragically, though, the reconciliation that looked as if it could maybe – just maybe – be on the cards is but a wish of wistful fans who watched a bit of magic evaporate when Brangelina died.

BRAD (53) is spending a lot of time “working on a clay sculpture while listening to Frank Ocean and drinking matcha green tea with a harlequin froth”, according to E News’ Melanie Bromley.

As for Angie, she’s doing just fine on her own.
