THEY’RE her greatest loves, the little people she’s credited with giving her life perspective, purpose and meaning, and she guards their privacy fiercely.
Which is why, when the curtain was pulled back on Charlize Theron’s family life recently with pictures of the two little girls enjoying the European summer with their mom, it was such a treat.
Jackson (9) and August (6) have been having a blast on holiday with Charlize in Greece, swimming in the Aegean Sea, hanging out on a fabulous yacht and celebrating with their mom when she turned 46.
“Me and my girls 4 life,” Benoni’s greatest export captioned a pic of her and the girls leaping into the ocean.
The children also got dressed up with Charlize and her friends for their mom’s prom-themed birthday bash.
Charlize didn’t go to her prom (or matric dance, as we South Africans call it). When she was 17, she already had a lucrative modelling contract in Europe, was trying out for a spot at New York’s prestigious Joffrey Ballet School and harboured dreams of Hollywood.
Nearly 30 years, 65 films, one Oscar and lots of other awards later, Charlize finally got to experience her end-of-school ball – albeit one with a difference. Her friends treated her to a prom-styled murder mystery party complete with tutus, perms and cheerleader outfits.
“Well, I never got to go to prom but my friends decided to change that,” Charlize said. “I love these humans more than words can describe. Only they could know that an ’80s prom murder-mystery party is my literal dream birthday.”
And making it all the dreamier were the two little girls celebrating by her side.
