Angie and Brad’s daughter has emerged from her shell with confidence and a style all her own

WHEN your parents are practically Tinseltown demigods and two of the best-looking people on the planet, it goes without saying the world would be intrigued by you.

And that’s been the case even before Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt was born in a Namibian clinic in 2006.

Oh, how proud we were. Of all the places in the world actors Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt – globetrotters extraordinaire – should choose to welcome their first biological child, it was right here in Southern Africa. Practically on our doorstep.

The world’s media went into a bidding war for the first pictures of tiny Shiloh, paying millions of dollars for shots of a baby blissfully oblivious to the hype that surrounded her birth.

All the money went to charity, as you’d expect from her philanthropic parents, and we got to feast our eyes on a downy haired cherub with a perfect rosebud mouth – a perfect mix of her beautiful mom and drop-dead gorgeous dad.

Her name means “the desired one” and she was named after the first child of Angie’s parents, actor Jon Voight and the late Marcheline Bertrand, a baby who passed away shortly after birth. “My father had been shooting in Georgia and that was the most Southern name my parents could come up with,” she said. “It’s a name I always liked. I used to go under it in hotels: Shiloh Baptist.”

As Shiloh grew, there were many more sightings: a toddler with wispy golden hair in a cute white dress being carried by Brad; a pre-schooler holding her mom’s hand in one of the many international airports they streamed through; a tomboy in baggies leaping into a swimming pool.
