You’ve got to hand it to Victoria Beckham: she never quite lets us forget about her, does she?
Just when she’s the last thing on anyone’s mind, up she pops to say, “Hey, remember me? I’m still here! And I’ve still got stuff to say!”
Posh is pushing herself front and centre again, reminding a world in crisis that she’s still evolving and she’s still a force to be reckoned with.
And who did she choose to tell this to?
None other than British Vogue, the fashion bible she’s regularly graced the glossy pages of in all her pouting prettiness.
This time she reverted to a trick she’s tried before: writing a letter to herself. She did it five years ago, when she crafted a missive to her teenage self, talking about how she wished she knew then what she knew now – that, yes, her acne would clear; she would lose the baby fat; and even someone as awkward and insecure as she was at 18 would find the love of her life.
This time around she’s penned some prose to her future self – a Posh several decades ahead hence looking back at a life that’s had its challenges but is ultimately one filled with damn-fine decisions.
A case in point: leaving the Spice Girls to become a world-famous fashion designer – and she has Elton John to thank for that.
“Remember, years ago, watching your dear friend Elton John on stage in Las Vegas?
“He performed Tiny Dancer as if it were the first time and you realised it was like oxygen for him,” she writes to herself.
