5 Minutes with Diana Penty

Diana Penty is at home, curled up on her couch, in pyjamas, a top-knot bun, and no make-up. “You wouldn’t believe this person belongs to the film industry if you saw me right now,” she laughs on the phone. That does sound like a far cry from her typically put-together self one is accustomed to seeing. But Diana is, by her own admission, “very normal”. And, despite being in the spotlight for more than 15 years now—first as a model, then an actor—she has managed to remain not just unfazed, but even unaffected, by the stereotypes around beauty and body. “It’s not about what you wear or how you look—for me, it’s the personality...” she tells us. In this interview, the face of Forever New in India also opens up about her personal style, societal constructs, and her mag-loving pooch, Vicky.

Cosmo: Tell us about your association with Forever New.

Diana Penty: “It was all very organic, actually. I have been a Forever New shopper since I was in college. At the time, I had just started modelling and was earning some money, so whenever I needed a dressy outfit, something nice but affordable, I’d just go to Forever New. Their style is classic and timeless, and that resonates with me. It is a brand I am familiar with—so it was a great fit, and I am happy to be on board.”

C: What are some of your favourite pieces from their latest collection?
