She’s fitter, happier, and has a clear vision of where she wants to steer her career. As the year comes to a close, we pick the actor’s brain on her professional and personal life, and the best thing(s) that has happened to her in 2018.
Sonakshi Sinha has come a long way since her debut. In just eight years, she’s banked over 20 films (including some of the biggest box office grossers of all time), won multiple awards, and garnered a massive following on social media (close to 50 mil, in case anyone’s counting). But more important than all of that, any of that, is this: Sonakshi is truly in a happy place. She is looking better than ever, sporting a super-fit body (and raking in compliments for all the hardwork she’s put in). And she’s also feeling better—more optimistic and focused than before. In an exclusive chat with Cosmo, the actor updates us on all that’s happening in her life, right this minute.
ON HER BODY TRANSFORMATION
“I feel really fit, fitter than ever! But honestly, there’s no secret. It’s just consistency—it’s everything. I had been working out for over 10 years, but I never took fitness seriously. There were multiple reasons for this: I was shooting non-stop and barely had any time for myself. Inevitably, I used to end up skipping workouts, and I was generally a lazy bum, but let’s ignore that fact. I think things changed when I was shooting for Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi and my schedule got pushed. So I suddenly had a couple of months to myself and I decided to utilise that time by going to the gym.
That’s also when I took up Pilates—which is something all my friends had recommended, but I never really got into it because I was under the impression that it was slow and not so effective—and it has completely changed the way I look at fitness. The moment I tried it, I was hooked. It’s something that really worked for me, my body type.
