Blue might be the warmest colour, and the most emblematic when it comes to Tiffany. The next most symbolic shade for the American jeweller? Probably yellow, the colour of the Tiffany Diamond, one of the largest of its kind in the world, weighing in at 128.54 carats.
The brand displays a sure hand with a rainbow of shades in its latest high jewellery collection though, demonstrating Tiffany’s burgeoning fascination with both colour and variety as it presents a range that boasts up to 35 different vividly-hued gemstones. Presented in four themes, Tiffany’s 2021 Blue Book collection is aptly named Colours of Nature, exploring land, sea, earth and sky in a kaleidoscopic journey through nature’s vivid chromatic displays. From the lush greenery of jungle foliage and delicate shapes of underwater fauna to the vibrant sky and the luminous stars, the 130-piece collection reflects Tiffany’s incredible vault of precious jewels — rubies, emeralds, sapphires, garnets, tourmalines and sapphires — that have been painstakingly sourced from around the world over the years. “Finding the perfect colour palette was an exercise in marrying the colours we experience all around us with the extraordinary stones that we were able to acquire,” says Victoria Reynolds, Tiffany’s chief gemmologist. “There are verdant greens that echo the lush landscapes of grasslands, electric blues that conjure images of azure seas, oranges and reds that are so vibrant it’s as if you’re [catching a glimpse deep into] our planet’s core.”
