Lip Love

While February is considered to be the month of gifts, roses and all things lovey-dovey, it is also the infamous harsh-on-your-lips winter season. Now chapped, dry, scaly and sore lips can happen at any time of the year, but the prospect of these issues is more prevalent due to the harsh and dry wintry winds.

To make your lip-love process a lot easier and a kissalicious pout easily achievable, we put together the ultimate lip care guide for yours truly. Read on, for we’re not letting you have chapped lips this season.

TAKE THE LIP OF FAITH

Dry lips can be caused due to various factors. But the most common reasons are harsh weathers, lack of humidity, over exposure to the sun, dehydration, excessive consumption of alcohol, excessive use of lip products or even aging. While these are external factors and uncontrollable, we are capable of doing some damage to our precious pout ourselves. Here’s what we can do so our lips stay hydrated and healthy and what should be avoided at all costs.

DO’S

Use a lip balm with SPF during the day to protect your lips.

Apply petroleum jelly before going bed at night to ensure you wake up to soft, kissable lips.

Use an oil-based lip serum, especially after warm showers to lock in the moisture and keep your lips supple.

Use a toothbrush to gently exfoliate your lips and get rid of any dead skin cells.

Drink plenty of water. You can sip on coconut or lemon water throughout the day too.
