WHAT SIGNIFICANCE DOES THIS SHOOT HOLD FOR YOU?
This kalgi that I asked my mother to give me for this shoot is something my father’s worn, and his grandfather’s worn…so it goes back, I think, four or five generations. I really wanted to wear it for my wedding but I just couldn’t, because I was running late and couldn’t figure out how to attach it. My great grandfather, father, and grandfather have been photographed in saafas and traditional family outfits. It’s very interesting to expose that side of the family for this shoot. I am going to click a picture of myself right now and send it to my mother, she will be really proud.
