whether as a model or an actress, Holly Lee Ho-Jung has been on a mission to carve out her own path to success in the K-scene since she was barely 16. Armed with a fearless attitude, a flair for being in front of the camera and a leather jacket (or two), it’s only a matter of time before she is primed for world domination.
You made your modelling debut at only 16. How did you know back then that it was what you wanted to do?
I was around 15 or 16 (in Korean age) when I saw an episode of Infinity Challenge starring Korean supermodel, Jang Yoon Ju. When I saw her modelling, I thought of it as something that I can do too. I had this strong feeling like, “I’m going to be very good in this field.” Ever since then, I made up my mind to become a model and I searched how I could become one until I finally applied to a model academy.
Is Jang Yoon Ju the model that you look up to the most?
I admire all my modelling seniors very much, so it’s not easy to name only one, but Jang Yoon Ju is definitely one of them. For my first catwalk, I got to share the runway with her, which was very nice. It was kind of a like a dream at that time for me to debut at a show with her.
What are some of your favourite modelling experiences so far?
One of them is a photoshoot that I did with G-Dragon. I’ve loved Big Bang even from elementary school, so when I got the chance to do a photoshoot with him, I thought, “It’s good to be a model.” I couldn’t sleep the night before the photoshoot because I kept thinking about what I should say to him, but on the day itself I was very flustered and I could only say two sentences. That was definitely one of my memorable modelling experiences.
