The Lavish Life And Times Of Vera Sidika
Most people know her for her proportions – the famous hourglass figure; tiny waist and generous hips and her famous skin change. What most people don’t know, is that Vera Sidika has mastered the art of online trending.

It is highly unlikely that a week will go by without her being on the news that’s if she is in the country (she has been away for four months).

Vera is also the Queen of stunts. Her latest stunt? spending one and a half hours in a makeup chair to ‘turn’ her skin black.

‘If you want to grab people’s attention, you have to do that extra thing. I am the chick that people hate to love but love to watch. It is like a drug,’ she tells me from across her mahogany desk.

We are seated in her lavish Vera Sidika Beauty Parlor, located at Western Heights in Westlands. Her white and rose gold coffee mug with the tag ‘girl boss’ is on her left and a black and gold globe on her right. ‘I hate those common blue ones,’ she says of the globe. ‘I wanted something different. Black and gold is very classy and I think it blends well with my desk and my beige walls,’ she adds.

Vera is a self-proclaimed interior design aficionado. She explains, ‘I am into details when it comes to spaces. Even when I used to live in a small crib, I would have a nice carpet, nice sofas and wall hangings. Friends would always compliment my style.’

She hopes that her love for creating beautiful spaces will translate into an interior design company and furniture store. ‘I have good taste. I will be dealing in luxury, unique and exclusive pieces which is my style.’

‘I did the whole salon space myself by the way,’ she adds excitedly as she gets up and opens a window in her spacious office situated at the back of the beauty parlour.
