Local bikini athlete making waves on both sides of the Indian ocean
CAPE TOWN-BORN BIKINI ATHLETE CLAUDIA JOVANOVSKI LIVES A JET-SET LIFESTYLE, SPLITTING HER TIME BETWEEN HER HOME TOWN AND HER NEW CITY OF CHOICE, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA.
Following breakthrough performances on both the local and international competitive stage over the last 12 months, this talented 23 year old has won two world titles and earned herself Pro Cards in two federations. We caught up with her during her most recent visit to South Africa to chat training, travelling, food and more.
WHAT’S IT LIKE SPLITTING YOUR TIME BETWEEN TWO CONTINENTS?
Both South Africa and Australia are extremely beautiful countries and that is the reason I go back and forth so often. A few of the positives of living in Australia include the power of the currency, safety and numerous career opportunities. However, no matter where I am, I love being outdoors, especially on the beach. In fact, I do most of my cardio outdoors.
WHAT WAS IT THAT ATTRACTED YOU TO THE COMPETITIVE BIKINI STAGE?
I always wanted to compete but I assumed that I could never achieve the fitness look I saw among the competitors on stage. Then, last year I decided to join a gym that specialises in body building and within a few months, with some hard training under my belt, I was up on stage competing. It is truly amazing how quickly the body adapts and changes.
