HOP ONTO THE BANDWAGON

Resistance bands have got a bad rep, and it’s totally undeserved. There are a few reasons for this, starting with the injury hangover. When you were seriously hurt in the past due to sports, training or pure clumsiness, there’s a good chance your doc or physio handed you a slim, flimsy rubber band and a long list of painful, boring moves to help with your rehab (which you most likely skipped doing). But even if the band did help you with your comeback, it probably didn’t leave you with a positive connotation or happy memories.

The second reason: resistance bands don’t look impressive. Honestly, compared to a stacked barbell, a fearsome kettlebell or even a light dumbbell, there’s no contest. They look positively geriatric versus all the heavy-duty metal peers. Ironically, the low-impact resistance band is a treasured tool for old-timers (more on why, later).
