A Light Touch

Charlotte Malagoni sensitively restored a rundown period property and created a bright, elegant home

Deciding when and where to move house is not always easy, but for interior designer Charlotte Malagoni and her husband Marco, a financial planner, it was their growing family that finally cemented their plan to leave london. ‘I loved our flat in Hampstead with its view over the garden, and I think that made it much harder for us to find our next home,’ says Charlotte. ‘We looked everywhere and at so many different properties, but what made the difference when I saw this place was the lovely aspect from front to back. The  light was incredible, so even though the house was rundown and needed a lot of work, I was very excited by its potential.’
