No matter what the viewing point, this Sydney garden has all the angles fully covered
Ensuring an easy flow from inside to out is always a priority when designing a garden, as is capturing pleasing vistas that can be enjoyed when looking out from the home. Such was the case with this renovated Californian bungalow, the rear wall of which featured expansive bifold glass doors.
“The garden can be viewed from almost anywhere in the house, chiefly the kitchen, lounge room and central corridor, as well as from different points within the garden itself,” says landscape architect Nick Kennedy from Art in Green. “The goal was to make the rear garden design work from all those different angles.”
Starting with the space directly outside the lounge room, there is a minimalist central courtyard complementing the modern interior. The courtyard boasts mounded beds of Korean temple grass and a feature honey locust tree.
