Be Goldilocks when it comes to bed and find one that is just right for your bedroom!
The Focal Point Of Any Bedroom Is The Bed. By That Logic, Everything Within The Space Should Conform To And Be Planned Around It. However, That Logic Starts To Break Down When You Factor In The Various Furniture Pieces That Have To Fit In Along With The Foot Space Needed To Maneuver Around.
As It Turns Out, The Right Way To Go About This Is To Not Plan Your Space Around The Bed! Instead, Plan The Bed Around Your Bedroom! Here Is How To Strike The Perfect Ratio Of Bedroom To Bed.
MEASURE THE ROOM
Break out the measuring tape and start getting down the dimensions of your bedroom. Measure out the length and width and scale it down so you can draw the floor plan out to get a better picture. If you are more tech savvy, use specialised programs to create a three dimensional rendering so you can play around and better visualise space constraints.
TAKE NOTE OF FURNITURE
While outlining the potential space for your bed, also take note of other furniture that is going to occupy the same space. Items like bedside tables, dressers, chairs, bookcases, or even shoe racks all have their distinct footprint, so spend a bit of time taking the measurements of each. Scale them down accordingly so you can visualise how they will fit into your floor plan. Account for pull out drawers, swinging closet doors, and extra space by the dresser so your bed does not become a potential obstruction.
