Taking its queue from its ever-changing garden, Babylonstoren in Simondium has recently expanded its much-loved scent room, amplifying its product offering by moving it into a much larger barn-like space.

It really doesn’t get better than this. Babylonstoren is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful farms in South Africa – and dare I say, the most sophisticated – and now its owner Karen Roos has listened to visitors and expanded Babylonstoren’s product range inspired by its spectacular gardens, introducing a new and improved scent room on its grounds.

Housed in a much larger factory-style space than before, now situated across the pathway from the wine cellar, the scent room features a slab of glass stretching the width of the factory. This gives visitors the chance to observe the industrial processes as well as providing an unedited view of a space that resembles a mad scientist’s extremely chic laboratory. You can clearly see Roos’ hand throughout the Cape Dutch farm, but it’s particularly evident here, where historic architecture and industrial detailing meet modern design.
