When summer rolls around, the Chadborns can decamp into the garden to relax, cook, eat and entertain around the clock – even in bad weather

The Chadborns’ garden was a dreary space with a haphazardly laid deck, patchy lawn and boring brick paving. ‘It wasn’t a space that called you outside to enjoy the sunshine!’ says Isatu.

‘We had to concentrate on the interior of the house for a few years, but I had a Pinterest board on the go and took ideas from places we stayed on holiday. After all that planning and dreaming, we knew what we wanted it to look like.
