Minimalist, rustic and contemporary are more than just words that describe the architectural design of this home, they also reflect the owners’ refreshed vision in design.

“Our previous homes were too busy, cluttered and a result of a mismatched taste between husband and wife. This time around, we relied heavily on our architects and I was given free rein on the interior design,” says the owner.

Opting for a light and airy interior feel, the owners loved the idea of living outdoors while still feeling sheltered. This translated into a home “floating in mid-air”, with the use of glass allowing for plenty of natural light to stream in, while achieving that desired perception of being outdoors but inside too.

“The architectural design allows for the most brilliant views over a pasture that grows mealies in summer and lucerne in winter – it’s a beautiful sight watching the cows coming to graze at our doorstep.”
