With an interesting play of shades, this duplex in has been skillfully designed by contours the design company for a business family in mumbai.
Spacious and contemporary in style, the Shah residence in Juhu, Mumbai exudes a swanky and luxurious vibe. Designed by Contours The Design Company (CTDC), this six-bedroom, duplex boasts of a rich material palette comprising different veneers, marbles, fabrics, mirrors, patterns and variety of lighting options that layer it with interest, allowing the homeowners to celebrate their space.
Owner of a spice company, Apoorva Shah and his wife Alpa Shah, their son, daughter and mother inhabit the 3,000 sq. ft. duplex. The client sought a sophisticated and spacious home, which design heads Prashant Halankar and Anand Mehta accomplished with great aplomb! Employing a simple colour scheme of white, beige and earthy shades, the home accommodates living-dining, kitchen, master bedroom, son’s bedroom, daughter’s bedroom, mother’s bedroom, guest bedroom and entertainment lounge. However, bold colours like grey and red in the lounge break the monotony of the predominantly subtle palette.
CTDC follows a design philosophy where a trilogy of form, function and aesthetics anoint all their projects and, this project is no different. As one steps off the elevator, the lobby leading to the main door that is clad in travertine marble with a religious statue placed on a champagne-coloured leafed console warmly welcoming visitors. A back-lit, back-painted glass panel has their surname featured with flourish, while the safety grill is a laser-cut metal plate finished in brushed steel.
