Designing a home for a family with young school-going children is not the easiest of tasks. Fun decor that are presently age-appropriate will be rapidly outgrown, whilst more mature interiors would be too sedate for precocious youngsters. One strategy that works is keeping the colour scheme and fixtures neutral-toned, and to liven all of it up with colourful furnishings and keepsakes, as seen in this spacious threebedroom home in Balmoral Road.
The owners asked for a complete overhaul of their 1,636sq ft resale apartment, commissioning interior designer KC and project manager Lucas Lau of Richfield Integrated for a family-friendly home that they and their three children could thrive in. Noting requests for sufficient storage space within clean-lined interiors, the team put forth a redesign led first by function, underpinned by an earthy-toned material palette that is elevated with luxe finishes.
