Indian Craft Galore
For London Design Festival 10th anniversary, India was at the center stage in the celebrations. Titled ‘This is India’ supported by ecommerce retailer Indelust, this included ten emerging and established India centric designers and brands across product, textile and furniture. The aim was to offer a renewed but intimate perspective on established and emerging design practices from India today. Continuing with the line-up, the Fair invited Spandana Gopal of Tiipoi to co-curate This is India, alongside Jimmy MacDonald, Founder & Director of the London Design Festival, with exhibition design by Kangan Arora. This is India also included textile designers Leah Singh, Injiri and Safomasi; Sculptor and ceramicist Aman Khanna of Claymen, Industrial Studio and Manufacturers Taama, Product Design Studio Objectry; URMI Studio who work with re-purposed plastic, Priyanka Shah of studio and workshop SHED.
