Narcissism is the security of tomorrow.
I’ve never enjoyed taking selfies and never understood the fascination or motivation for those who do. After all, I see myself in the mirror every day and don’t need a reminder of how I look. It turns out that I might have to start taking selfies, according to futurist Dr Ian Pearson.
In collaboration with Sony Mobile, the good doctor recently wrote the Future of Selfies report, predicting that selfies would no longer just be a tool to socially validate narcissism but be used for security authorisation, medical diagnosis and even as a payment tool.
Sony Mobile commissioned the study to discover how it could design the smartphone of the future, drive change and innovation, and make the lives of consumers easy at the same time.
