The baby Cyrus may have a famous family, but she’s been fueling up for a career trajectory that’s about to lift off.
Noah Cyrus admits she cries a lot, but never has she shed a tear for her wrecking-ball swinging, hellraiser of a superstar sister. In fact 17-year-old Noah says even at her most controversial , she has never seen big sister Miley as anything but a role model. “Old Miley, new Miley — to me there’s one Miley and that is the Miley I have loved my entire life as my sister,” she says of her sibling. Little did we know, Noah has been behind the scenes, working on her music since she was 14, following also in the footsteps of country music star father Billy Ray Cyrus.
Noah has already released two singles, Make Me (Cry) and Stay Together, ahead of the long-awaited release of her debut album, ’NC-17’. It ’s a big step for the teenager — one that she is determined to make as an artist in her own right rather than as “the latest Cyrus to sing”. The youngest of five, Noah has had plenty of advice on how to avoid the pitfalls of what can be a cruel industry. She admits to being over-sensitive to criticism, to the point she’s had to heed her family ’s advice to tune out the bad.
If the going does get tough, Noah knows she has Miley as her ally — a star who has more than experienced the extreme high and lows of the music industry. Here Noah talks about her venture into music, stardom and Insta-fame (three million followers already!), how she loves Liam as much as Miley, keeping up appearances and wanting to be known as more than just another singing Cyrus.
