Where do you surf?
Not being so close to any decent surf spots up here in Cheshire, I usually travel out to Rhosneigr or Hells Mouth in North Wales, and had the odd go at Surf Snowdonia. One of my mates lives down in Cornwall now so I go down a couple of times a year.
How did you get into tree carving?
I completed a music degree back in 2007 and had no sight of any jobs so became a chef. I got fed up with working in kitchens and got a job as an estate agent, then made redundant, which was the best thing that ever happened to me. I found a job treating lawns which got me thinking about how I had liked the idea of working on trees as an Arborist. So I got on a course at a local college. I was let down by a firm for my work experience but had met a local tree carver who had an amazing reputation and did my work experience with him as I'd always been good at art.
