Norwegian defender aiming for success over AEK Athens at Paradise
CELTIC will take on AEK Athens tonight (Wednesday) in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League third qualifying round tie.
Brendan Rodgers’ side will be aiming to establish a first-leg lead to take to Athens next Tuesday, and just as important as scoring will be the need to keep a clean sheet against the Greek champions.
Kristoffer Ajer could be one of the defenders tasked with keeping AEK at bay in front of a packed Paradise, and it’s a challenge that the Norwegian defender is relishing.
The Hoops have already safely negotiated two qualifying rounds, seeing off Alashkert of Armenia and the Norwegian champions, Rosenborg, only conceding one goal in four games.
And while Celtic will be anticipating their toughest test yet when they welcome AEK to Paradise, 20-year-old Ajer is confident that the Hoops can emerge triumphant.
