Lewis Morgan aiming to play his part in Celtic’s push for success.

THERE are few players whose ability with both feet makes it difficult to identify their ‘natural foot’, but Lewis Morgan is one of those whose ability is equally impressive with left or right foot.

It’s an attribute which has helped him progress in his career to this point, and he’s hoping it will help push him into the Celtic team in the weeks and months ahead as Brendan Rodgers’ side push for honours across several fronts.

Speaking exclusively to the Celtic View, the 22-year-old explained: “Using both feet is an ability I’ve always concentrated on. I don’t even remember when I started focusing on doing it.

“When I was playing as a young boy, I would always try to work my weaker side. That was drilled into us at a young age, so I would say I’ve been practicing that since day one.

“The level we’re playing at, most boys can use both feet but they just have a preference, whereas I don’t really think about which foot I prefer. The boys we have here at Celtic can all use their weaker side, so I’m no different in that sense.”

The advantages of having that dexterity with either foot was evident in last weekend’s game against Livingston at Almondvale. Morgan came on as a second-half substitute with just under 30 minutes remaining in the game, and his attacking threat was evident as he tested Liam Kelly in the Livingston goal with shots using either foot.

The player recognises the benefit of being able to use either foot, but admitted he was disappointed not to have scored what would have been a decisive goal in what ended a 0-0 draw.

“Looking back at the game, I was quite frustrated,” Morgan said.
