Henrik Larsson will run out one more time at Paradise as his Henrik’s Heroes take on Lubo’s Legends
HENRIK Larsson had an illustrious playing career, spanning clubs like Barcelona, Manchester United and Feyenoord, but they were all eclipsed by his success-filled seven-year spell in Paradise.
It was at Celtic where he grew into one of the most feared front-men in European football, scoring an incredible 242 goals in 315 games to become a revered figure among the Hoops faithful.
And for one special day in May, Henrik will be returning to the place he calls his second home all in the aid of charity. The 45-year-old will go head-to-head against his former team-mate and friend Lubo Moravcik in a match involving a host of ex-payers and celebrities at Celtic Park to raise funds for Celtic FC Foundation.
Tickets have been selling fast for the event, underling the adulation both these Celtic greats are held in by the club’s supporters.
And speaking to the View in an exclusive interview, the goal-scoring great revealed his excitement at making an impending return to Paradise.
Who is going to be using the home dressing room at Celtic Park?
I think it’s going to be me and my team. I have already spoken to John Clark about it so I have settled it quite early. Sorry, Lubo!
How good a player was Lubo Moravcik?
Lubo was one of the best players I have ever played with. Still to this day, I don’t know if he was right-footed or left-footed! He could hit free-kicks, passes with any either foot. He was so good it was unbelievable. But he was also a good player, and that’s the most important thing in the end when you stop playing. I still speak with him now and then and his English isn’t the best but we understand each other. As a footballer, he is the one of the best I have ever played with.
Was anyone in the dressing room aware of Lubo’s ability before he became a Bhoy?
