I'd Fly 11,000 Miles For One Of Your Goals

Living in Argentina hasn’t stopped Seba Ongalenni from following the Hoops.

I'd Fly 11,000 Miles For One Of Your Goals

IF you go to Argentina, you will see us there...And now that’s official thanks to the actions of dyed-in-the-wool Celtic fan, Seba Ongalenni.

For the broadcast journalist from Quilmes, a city on the outskirts of Buenos Aires, has founded the first Celtic Supporters’ Club in the South American country.

The 22-year-old has followed the club since he was a child, despite more than 11,000 miles separating his home and Paradise, and making this next step has been a dream come true.

Overwhelmed by the universally positive response from the worldwide Celtic online community, Seba, who commentates and analyses matches for several radio stations, is eager to spread the Celtic message across his homeland and attract more members.

And he caught up with the View for an exclusive interview to reveal where his passion for the Hoops stems from and what drove him to establish a CSC in his homeland.

How and why did you become a Celtic supporter, particularly in a country where there are so many other popular football clubs?

I’m a Celtic fan since childhood. Why? I don’t actually know. I guess I have been a Hoop my entire life. I love Scotland as well as Ireland, their history, their passion, their culture. It’s kind of hard to explain what I feel about Celtic, it may have been inside me since I was born. It’s an overwhelming emotion, it’s everything to me. So, in spite of all the amazing clubs over here, and there are tons in this category, I’ll keep supporting Celtic because trophies are not the main thing in this world.

For you, what makes Celtic such a special club to support?
