Actor Pamela Dwyer is thrilled to be involved again as Celtic The Musical returns to Glasgow

HAVING grown up in a Celtic-supporting family in Clarkston, it was extra special for Pamela Dwyer to play a leading role in the first run of Celtic the Musical. And the London-based actor can’t contain her excitement at the prospect of treading the boards in an updated version of the hit show in September when it returns for a second run at Glasgow’s Pavilion Theatre.

“I’ve been excited since we last did it two years ago, as there’s always been talk of bringing it back and people have been on Twitter every day asking the question,” Pamela told the View in an exclusive interview.

“The buzz has never really left since we did it before, so I really can’t wait!”

For Pamela’s family, particularly her Hoops-daft uncles, it will also be a memorable moment to see her bringing the Celtic story to life again.

“I come from a very Celtic family so it means a lot to them across the board, and they absolutely loved it,” she said. “I think my family were more impressed at how much I learned about Celtic in such a short space of time – all the details, facts and figures – when they had spent a lifetime getting all that information into their heads.

“My uncles are actually obsessed with Celtic. The first thing my uncle William said to me after he saw the show on the first night was, ‘I can’t believe you know more about Celtic than me!’

“They actually had tickets for the show before they knew I was in it, so that’s how much they cared about it. My uncles had to get first night tickets, and my uncle William was practically in tears when it finished.
