This walk to celebrate this month’s Isles of Scilly Walking Festival – the perfect opportunity to discover what life is like between the Islands of Tresco and Samson in this unique low-tide guided walk across the Channel. The perfect opportunity to explore Scilly’s exposed underwater world”
The annual ten-day Walk Scilly event takes place 1-10 April, when you can join the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust on unique and educational guided walks. As the tide retreats you will walk across an exposed underwater world, learning about the fascinating creatures that can be found; from the secretive Hermit crab, to the Snakelocks anemone; the perfect Periwinkle, to the beautiful homes of the Masonry worm.
1. Landing by boat at Carn Near, Tresco, take a gentle stroll up the quay and a short way along the concrete road, before diving off to the left through the dunes; sneaking through a low tunnel of wireweed and marram grass onto the open expanse and beautiful white sands of Appletree Bay.
