Pasikudah Sunrise
Cosmopolitan Sri Lanka|August 2018

Don’t let the rain in Colombo and the rest of the southwestern region get you down! LAKSHIKA PINTO continues trippin’ along the Eastern Coast this monsoon season, heading straight to catch that Pasikudah sunrise.

Pasikudah Sunrise

Known for its pristine beaches and breathtaking sunrise views, Sri Lanka’s East Coast may not be as easily approachable as most of the island, but is definitely worth the trek. One gem of a coastal town you’ll find along this line is Pasikudah. Situated in between Trinco & A-Bay, Pasi is yet another great beach getaway perfect for an extended weekend with friends, family or just bae!

Getting To Pasi

The journey can be a little longer than to most parts of the island, depending on your preferred mode of transportation. There are no direct train services to Pasikudah so you’ll have to take either the 6 AM or 7 PM train to Batticaloa. The trip will take 9 hours and from there you can either hitch a 1-hour long bus ride to Pasi or else just opt for a tuk tuk— pricier but definitely faster! If you want to travel in the comfort and convenience of your own ride, the drive should take you 6 hours tops! If none of this land travel floats your boat, Cinnamon Air offers flights to Pasikudah so you can travel like a Kardashian this August!

Staying in Pasi

Pasikudah was made for the luxe traveller. At least that’s the picture the town’s numerous gorgeous beachfront properties paint. If you want a fancy getaway with bae, the options are vast with the likes of Uga Bay by Uga Escapes, Sunrise by Jetwing, Amaya Beach and Sun Aqua Pasikudah topping the list. Be prepared to enjoy a private beach, late night seaside bonfires upon request, and daytime lazing by the pool, with a Cosmo in hand, of course!
