Brighten & Lighten 5 Advanced Facials For Skin Spots
EL Singapore|April 2020
If you’re prone to hyperpigmentation, the bad news is that Singapore’s tropical climate can exacerbate the problem. Frequent exposure to the sun all year round can lead to existing spots on the skin getting darker. To help, we’ve gathered info on five aesthetic treatments for pigmentation problems like melasma, sunspots, and acne scars.
Brighten & Lighten 5 Advanced Facials For Skin Spots

Pico Pigment

Available at SW1 Clinic, Pico Pigment is a 30-minute treatment that combines Pico Discovery Plus with intense pulse light (IPL) to lighten spots, fade blemishes and brighten the complexion. Pico Discovery Plus Features three different laser wavelengths and uses the latest picosecond technology to treat pigmentation and remove tattoos.

A numbing cream is first applied to the skin to make the experience more tolerable. During the laser procedure, you may feel a slight warmth and a gentle prickling sensation, though most patients are comfortable with the process. Immediately after the session, you can expect a mild flush; this should resolve after a few hours. For intensive spot treatments to target resistant pigmentation, there may be localised redness over the next few days.

Depending on the severity of your pigmentation and the treatment intensity during each session, a course of two to six sessions may be needed every one to four weeks. To speed up the healing process, follow up with PDRN (Polydeoxyribonucleotide), a skin regenerating treatment administered via sonophoresis (ultrasound).

Medlite Pigment Laser

From treating different types of pigmentation to improving textural issues like wrinkles, fine lines, and enlarged pores, this versatile laser system available at W Skin & Laser covers a wide range of skin concerns. However, it’s most known for its effectiveness at lightening solar lentigenes (sunspots), which give rise to a spotty and uneven complexion that many middle-aged women struggle with.
