What's the difference between floor Pilates and reformer Pilates?
In short, both forms offer workouts that focus on core strength, flexibility and mind-body connection. Your choice depends on personal preferences and specific fitness goals.
Floor Pilates uses gravity as resistance and emphasises bodyweight exercises performed on a mat on the ground. Where reformer Pilates differs is through the use of a specialised machine called a reformer. This machine uses springs for resistance instead of just your body weight. You can try a wider range of exercises using a reformer and adjust the resistance levels to suit your needs. So you can make your Pilates workout harder or easier, plus you'll have more precise control in all your movements.
