SUSTAINABILITY IS THE ABILITY OF OUR SYSTEM TO ENDURE. IT REQUIRES EACH ONE OF US TO DO OUR BIT TO HELP CREATE A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE, WHETHER IT IS AS SIMPLE AS SWITCHING OFF THE LIGHTS WHEN NOT IN USE OR SAYING NO TO PLASTIC. As a fashion content creator it becomes very difficult to adapt to completely sustainable practices, considering I do a new fashion video every single day. But, as part of my effort, I do two things: I like to style my preowned pieces in various ways which I try to show to people through my content (I have made at least 2000 videos by utilizing all of the pieces a hundred times), and supporting home grown brands, Indian designers, and smaller businesses. Back in 2019, when I started my Instagram journey, I remember even then I would support a lot of homegrown brands. They are so much more sustainable than your fast fashion brands in terms of minimum wastage, ethical practices, and so much more.

On a personal front, I am very mindful of the smallest things, like saving water, usage of plastic, using a wooden toothbrush, switching to steel straws, and carrying my own water bottle everywhere. I try to make as much difference as possible.

We feel that no one is 100% sustainable, everyone is somewhere sustainable in their practices. What we do is shop at the minimum and get our clothes tailored. We make sure to recycle, that is one practice we have seen through generations; Basic things like turning our old t-shirts into mop and using old saree borders to decorate our curtain We are trying to be sustainable with these basic practices that we both would consume in our lifestyle and hopefully would be a change in the longer run.
